Acoustic Corer

OceanWorks took part in, and won, a competitive tender to develop concept designs for a start-up company that had developed an acoustic corer based on Synthetic Aperture Sonar imaging. The system required precise positioning of the instrument package within 1 cm of instructed relative position over a 10 m diameter circle, deployment using standard shipboard cranes, rail transportable in an ISO container and assurance that the system structure didn't incorporate any resonate harmonics during operation. OceanWorks delivered a prototype system that met the system requirements and was put into commercial service following verification trials.



Subsea Optical Node 

OceanWorks was selected by Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) to provide a termination node in the Jubarte SMSI Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) system for Petrobras in Brazil. The seafloor termination node provides termination of the sensor cables to the main backbone cable. OceanWorks was chosen to provide this system based on our success with other seafloor instrumentation networks and proven history in challenging design build projects.  (Press Release)

Fill/Vent Hotstabs


OceanWorks has developed a hot stab system with integrated shuttle valve to enhance the speed of installation for large subsea buoyancy cans used on FPSO systems. This product concept was developed by considering the full system, including operational requirements, to develop a cost effective solution that minimized hardware purchase, installation and operational costs.





Subsea Dispersant Fluid System 

OceanWorks was selected in a competitive tender to design and build the Marine Well Containment Company's (MWCC) Subsea Dispersant Fluid Systems. This system provides dispersant storage on the seafloor, gathering manifolds, over 6000 ft of piping and three (3) battery powered pumping modules to allow injection of dispersant to an uncontained oil spill in the event of a uncontrolled leak. This equipment forms an integral part of the MWCC response kit and services in the Gulf of Mexico. Member companies include: Shell, BP, ExxonMobil, Statoil, BHP Billiton, Anadarko, Apache, ConocoPhillips, Chevron, and Hess. (Press Release)
